An Iqama is a type of official residency permission that is issued to expatriates in countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This document enables the individual to dwell and pursue employment within the country. The Iqama card contains personal information such as the individual’s name, portrait, occupation, and information about their sponsor. Expats living in these countries are required to have this document in order to complete a variety of operations, including opening a bank account, obtaining a driver’s license, and gaining access to healthcare services. As a result, it is an extremely important document.

Although expats have access to public healthcare services, they may be compelled to pay a price in order to receive those services. This is because the quality of public healthcare options can vary. Foreigners are no longer eligible for free public healthcare, and in order to obtain residency permits, expatriates are required to provide documentation that they have health insurance.
