Expatriates Students in UAE Now Work in Private Sector

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced a new decree which empowers UAE nationalist and expatriate students having student Visa to obtain work permit and get training and fill vacant position in Private sector of UAE. Well the News is really more in favor and beneficial for expatriates living in UAE as a student.

All students having age between 12 to 18 can get training in private sector while students only between age 15 to 18 could be able to obtain work permit which pave the way to get jobs in Private sector. All students need  his Guardian or Father permission for which all students under age 18 require a written consent from parents or Guardian to get work permit.

While those thinking of benefits and advantages of becoming employed during student years. The decree allocates same benefits and advantages to students as those in regular jobs with same designation. The decree also regulate companies and employer to follow the procedure and rule regarding employment of students.

There are three types of permits for Students

Temporary Work Permit

Part time Work Permit

Juvenile Work Permit

The Fee for each work permit is Dh 500

Temporary Work Permit: Those Companies doing projects which required at least 6 months to complete could hire national or expatriate students, registered or non-registered in the ministry’s database.

Part Time Work Permit: This permit name suggest as part time which means those students who posses this must work for fewers hours than other permits. And total job contract is not more than one year.

Juvenile Work Permit: Students having age between 15 to 18 could get this permit and work for company for the period of 1 year.

Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said:

the decree falls within the framework of implementing tasks assigned to the ministry in terms of labour market management in line with vision of the future government to develop human resources and invest in their capabilities, so that they improve productivity and participation in labour market.

Which means that this decree allow us to train the students for future need of labour market. Which allow students to develop essential skills during their study period and hence improve productivity and participation in labour market.

Some more rule were also be implemented such as almost 31 sectors were their in which students will not be employed. The working hours for students must be not more then 6 hours in which one hour must be given to them as a break.

Companies cannot make the students work for more than four consecutive hours a day.

These permits can be requested from Tas’heel service centres or through the ministry’s smartphone applications.
