The head of the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, announced on Friday that the Prophet’s Mosque will be opened gradually in light of the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus from Sunday 8 Shawwal 1441 AH.
It is noteworthy that the presidency worked to implement a package of preventive precautions, among them the application of social divergence between worshipers, the intensification of daily sterilization operations, the conduct of precautionary examination on all employees and workers in the sanctuary, and the activation of a number of initiatives, including the “together guarded” initiative.
To that, the highest precautionary and preventive standards were applied in the service of the Two Holy Mosques, in cooperation and coordination with the concerned and security authorities.
She also installed dedicated thermal read cameras that read the automatic temperature measurement, working around the clock, under the supervision of specialized health practitioners by the Ministry of Health, in a number of doors and entrances to the Sacred Mosque.
The presence and prayer had been suspended in the squares of the Noble Sanctuary, as a precautionary measure and preventive measures to prevent the spread of Corona since March 20, 2020.
