The Kingdom of Bahrain has recently witnessed the opening of the world’s largest diving park, an exciting addition to the Kingdom’s diverse tourism sector.
This project is part of Bahrain’s efforts to consolidate its position on the map of exceptional tourist destinations, and the implementation of the strategy of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to develop the tourism product by employing seas, beaches and islands surrounding the Kingdom to create the most attractive tourist facilities in the region and the world.
The largest park of its kind in the world covers an area of 100,000 square meters.
The opening came after the completion of the first phase of the project in which the Boeing 747 was submerged in the seabed with a depth of 20 to 22 meters, and installed in the center of the park north of Bahrain waters. The registered diving centers in the country have also tested the flight experience of the diving to the airframe and examined to ensure that it complies with security and safety standards and meet the requirements to provide a distinctive and safe experience for the goers.
The park allows visitors to enjoy a unique diving experience of a vast area. It also allows them to get acquainted with the sea creatures of Bahraini sea and the artificial reefs that maintain the sustainability of these creatures in their natural environment, as they provide the appropriate factors for breeding and nursery, and raise the level of awareness of boats. In tourist areas.
The park has a number of attractions to test this unique experience. Other models will be installed alongside the underwater airframe in the next phases of the project, including a replica of Nokhatha House, a model of Bahrain’s old pearl merchants, which is currently being designed and built. With the support of Diyar Al Muharraq, in addition to marine artificial coral reefs in order to form safe housing for the marine ecosystem in the Kingdom, encourage the growth of coral reefs and develop a sustainable environment to contribute to the prosperity of marine life, giving a pleasant experience for tourists and diving enthusiasts in particular.
The projects will contribute to the provision of rich material for those interested and researchers in the field of the marine environment and the growing environmental awareness of the components of marine life and the importance of conservation.
