Only Saudis Allowed to Work in Careem and Uber

Ride Hailing Services such as Careem and Uber were only allowed to hire Saudi Citizens as per Saudi Ministry of Transport. Those expatriates who want to work with Careem or Uber only do this, through licensed Private Taxi Company. Hence most of money, perks and bonuses goes to these Taxi companies and driver is given with fix wage. Now it is official that those expatriates having their own vehicle with license not be able to work with Ride Hailing Services

Expatriates not allowed to work in Uber and Careem

Transport Ministry with the help of Ministry of Labor and security agencies regulates transportation sector around four months ago and give deadline to those companies having any unbalanced status.

Turki Attaimi, general supervisor of corporate communications and marketing at the Ministry of Transport, said that MOT main goal is to control supply and demand gap of automobile applications. He also point outs that many expatriates were involved in these illegal activities that were ban by MOT and violates MOL laws as well as their visa laws. More he said that the expatriates also used unlicensed cars.

Attaimi added that the new regulations are aimed to organize this sector in addition to curbing illegal activities, reported Al-Riyadh.
